i'm surprised not to see malay satay hut in the running on ""the best of"". i'll have to admit that when i started going to malay satay in the i.d. about 1.5 years ago it was not much to look at. however, the food is excellent, even if the lineups are not. try the roti, the satay, the green beans... anything on the menu is good. the i.d. district was closed due to a fire early 2002 but is PROMISED to re-open any day soon.
